H1N1 Vaccine and Alternatives

0943016634_newswineflu.jpgYou might already have developed your own opinion regarding the issue of the swine flu. The government and the news articles I've read have strong opinions on the subject... and most of them try to reassure the public that the vaccine will be safe. I ran across a blog today with links to some interesting views on the vaccine they are planning to administer.
The blog article by the Nourishing Gourmet was actually about an herb, which I will also write about in this post. That article led me to another article by a doctor about the vaccine.

The H1N1 vaccine is going to be pushed on North America and the UK very soon. There isn't enough time for them to possibly have an adequate testing period. This has put up some warning flags for me. Not only do I have some convictions about vaccinations that have become commonplace, but the articles I have read and the way the American government has jumped on the bandwagon (by paying so much money and preparing to administer this in schools first!) bothers me. I know we've heard plenty of reasons from the medical community about why we should get this vaccine and the news has scared us with stories of people getting sick or dying from the virus. I would encourage you to read these articles and consider the following:

1. The vaccine is being rushed through the testing phase. There is no way they will have enough time to safely test the vaccine. Just because the government is enforcing it doesn't mean it's safe.
2. It is more likely, according to some doctors, the vaccine may harm or kill more people than the virus.
3. Vaccine makers are immune from liability if you get sick from their vaccines.
4. Deaths from the H1N1 virus remain low... less than half of one percent of reported cases of the strain. Most cases of the illness have been mild.

Here is the article that the Nourishing Gourmet mentioned in her blog about an herb that scientists and doctors have found to help the immune system deal with the H1N1 virus quicker. It is called "Tulsi".
