A friend of mine told me about an herb called plantain that is very medicinally useful. She found some in the garden we were working in today. It wasn't planted there on purpose... it was a weed. I LOVE finding things that aren't wanted or put there on purpose that are useful.
This herb is called "plantain". It has other names, which you can read about in the link I'm providing, but that is the most common name. One of the other names is Englishman's foot or white man's foot because no matter where you step, it seems to be around. Makes sense. This weed is common. The link will go into more detail about the uses of plantain. These are the things I am looking forward to doing with the plantain I harvested:
Green smoothie: 1-2 c fresh plantain, 3 apples chopped (tart apple), half a lime with the peel, a thumb sized piece of fresh ginger-juice all in juicer, add ice cubes or chill before serving.
Green tea: for fever, cold, sore throat and constipation
