We wrote a song for Maelle and the sound tech. recorded it at the baptism service when we performed it live. Here are the words:
She Says (G-Capo 2 [A])
G
She says “Dad you know I love you” just by looking in my eye
Em
It breaks my heart to feel her pain any time she cries
D
She’ll say that life’s amazing while she’s laying on the floor
C
Reaching up towards my face, she tells me that she’s sure
G
She says “Mom you know I trust you” every time she grabs my hand
Em
Then snuggles down against my neck and falls asleep again
D
Wakes up in the night to cry and ask me if I’m there
C
She settles down to sleep and says she’s glad to know I care.
G Em
Her smile speaks of a joy I haven’t known since I was young
C D
Where everything is new, and nothing in this world is wrong
G Em
It lights the room and makes everything simple once again
Am Bm C D
Reminds me that life’s not so hard if you dare to let love in
G C
And we pray that Christ will create in you
D C
A heart that knows everything that’s true
G C
A trust in God far beyond your fears
D C G
And a faith that leaves us standing here in praise
G
She says “Mom and Dad, I’m growing up”
Em
Every time she tries to talk
D
God give us wisdom, strength and love
C
To teach her how to walk with You, and…
G
She says “Dad, you know I love you”
Em
She says “Mom, you know I trust you”
D C
She says that life is not so hard if you dare to let love in
I recently went on a hunt for a free Christmas tree. I didn't care if it was real or fake, and if you know me, you know how desperate I am to be willing to borrow a fake tree. Thankfully, we found a way to get a real tree for free. BC allows you to cut down 3 trees per household for free as long as you have a permit. You can print the permit and carry it on your person. No money or visit to an office required. I'm a fan. We're going on Sunday to get our tree. Maelle will have her first Christmas tree. So fun. I'm going to try to make some Christmas ornaments out of an old red scarf I have. We are also getting an extra, ratty tree to take the branches from and use for a couple wreaths that I'm going to make and hang upside-down and tied together with ribbon. Kind of like this:
We have been dealing with the arrival of Maelle's first tooth. Yes, she is only four months and she has her first tooth. Such a big girl. I know... I know... every kid is different... but I love that she has a tooth already. She takes after her Mom. :-) She also loves to be social whilest eating now. She will yank herself off of the breast to stare at me if I move, drink, eat, talk, whisper, or look at her funny... or even if I don't look at her... if I try stop EVERYTHING she still yanks off randomly just to pay attention to me. And boy does she like to stare. She will stare at me for a long, long time and she doesn't seem to get bored. As soon as I look at her, she smiles. My heart melts. That is all.
