Living Out Convictions And Living Within Our Means
I had a good talk with a friend today about living within our means while still living out our convictions. In other words, eating as healthy (local, natural, organic, etc) as possible without breaking the bank. Thankfully, living in BC gives us access to many local resources, such as farmer's markets, farms and grocery stores that carry healthier alternatives. The bad news is that, with the exception of certain seasons and deals, we cannot get these things without paying more. So, do we eat vegetarian most of the time and buy some free run/organic meat from the store? Do we buy meat from friends who hunt? How much dairy do we eat without the access to raw alternatives? What do we plant in our garden this spring? These are all things we're wrestling with right now. S and I are enjoying the challenge of finding ways to feed our growing family and even our family and friends when they visit. I haven't said anything about my pregnancy on this blog until now, but yes, I am pregnant. Due in July. :-)
